Mother's Day

On Mother's Day we went out in the boat on one of the local "lakes." I say "lake" because it's really just a big spot in a river. We went out with our friends and ended up with two ski boats out.
Here is Tracy wakesurfing. This was the first time that she was able to let go of the rope and didn't fall right away. She did a great job!
Here is Scott wakesufing for the first time. He's from Cali and is used to surfing, but not behind a boat. Great job Scott!
Then we had wakeboarding. Here is Rob, right before he fell and broke his foot. This was the first of the disasters. We should have just left when this happened. But I will say, he is such a trooper! His foot was a MESS, but he swam over and pulled R then toughed it out for the rest of the day. GO ROB!
Here is daddy wakeboarding. He was getting some major air and did a GREAT job!
And Chase watching daddy wakeboard. He is very concerned when daddy is in the water and watches him the whole time!
Of course we had to throw in some tubing. Here is C in the tube.
The little girls in the tube.
And the bigger girls in the tube.
Tracy had to end the day when she ended up in a foot of water and a totally messed up prop. So everyone else came into our boat and we tried to go back out, but ended up hitting something big 4 times and messed up our prop. So in we went to end the day on the lake. Oh and not to metion, it rained most of the day. But we still had a great time spending time with our friends and look forward to spending more time together this summer. But NOT on this "lake" anymore!!!

My 31st Birthday

May is my birthday month. This year, I wanted to celebrate with all of my new friends here. We went out for dinner at a great local cajun restaurant. The food was great. But we had a bit of a problem getting it. We got there early, which was fine, but it was prom night so we waited for about an hour and a half before being seated. No big deal. So, when we sat down to eat, we ordered our appitizers then dinner. When dinner arrived the waiter looked at me and asked me if I was sharing with R. I said no and he got a really worried look on his face. Then said he was going to check in the kitchen for my dinner. About 10 minutes later he came back and told me that they forgot my order. So another 35 minutes passed and he finally brought out my dinner. I was so looking forward to my pan sauted soft shelled crab. And they were GREAT! But I was not able to eat with my party since my food arrived 45 minutes AFTER they had already gotten their food! The restaurant did make it right in that they bought our entire table of 6 people's dinner.
After dinner, we walked downtown to go to a couple of the local establishments. The first one that we went to was a German place where Das Boot resides. From what I've heard this is a MUST HAVE here. So we went to try it.
Our boot is on the left. Now, mind you, we have 4 people sharing this, so I did NOT drink it myself!!! I did, however, start it. This thing was MASSIVE!
It's a German beer, but for a dark beer, it was pretty smooth and kind of good.....for beer.
So, tradition goes, the second to last person to finish it has to pay for it. Since R drank after me, that meant that I had to finish it if I didn't want to pay for it. So, I did!
Here is the group of us that went out that night. These girls and guy have become some really great friends to us. They all live in our neighborhood. We really enjoy hanging out with them and getting to know them better.
Then we headed to the local sports bar. Here is R and I hanging out.
All of my girls.
We went to a new bar in town where they had a live band playing and lots of dancing. It was a great night! Thanks everyone for making my birthday so much fun and so special!

Flying

Wow! It's been a while since I've posted anything. Sorry! So, in May our small group leader, who has an airplane, asked the class if we'd like to go flying. Well, agh, YEAH! It was such a great time.
Our ride for the day.

Miss M and I went up first and took a tour of our beautiful little town.
Miss M's ready to go up! Doesn't she look so excited?! She refused to wear the headphones though, so she couldn't hear us or talk to us easily.
Here I am...all ready for take off. I enjoyed the flight except I was so worried about Miss M getting air sick that I kept looking back at her and ended up sick myself. Oh well, some fresh air and Arby's lunch helped cure me.

After Miss M and I came back Mr. Man and daddy went up. Here is Mr. Man ready to go. He really enjoyed the flight.

And here's daddy ready to go. Oh I almost forgot, daddy and I each got to take over the controls toward the end of our flight and fly the plane oursleves. Daddy did a great job. He kept it at the right feet and went straight. I, on the otherhand, didn't do as great of a job. I kept dropping the plane and was all over the sky. Thank goodness the real pilot had control of the plane and I couldn't do too bad of a job! Ha.
