Miss M's first t-ball game

Miss M decided that she wanted to play t-ball this year.

Between you and me, I'm pretty sure it's the jealously thing rearing it's pretty little head. She's watched her daddy coach Mr. Man for 2 t-ball seasons and a season of football and decided that she wanted him to coach her.

So, without much persuading, she talked him into coaching her team this year too. He was able to choose the team so he chose the Marlins. The mightly Marlins had their first game Monday night. It was so much fun!

She was so fun to watch. Yes, she dug in the dirt quite a bit and may or may not have missed a ball or two because she was busy socializing in the outfield. I will say, though, she hit the stuffing out of the ball each time she was up to bat. She hit it the first time and made it fly!

She had fun too. And she's totally into the proper baseball pose and making sure, she, you know, looks cute.

I think she does. And I think we have a ball player on our hands. Love you little Miss!

Take us out to the ball fields...

This year Miss M decided that she wanted to play t-ball. I think her main reason for this is because she's watched daddy coach Mr Man's 2 t-ball teams and his football team and she was wanting her turn. Since she has her daddy wrapped around her teeny tiny little finger, he got talked into coaching both teams. He is now the proud coach of the Marlins and Cubs.

We've had a few practices and next week the madness of games will start up. We have dance and games on the same days, and games that have doubled up at the same times. Now, mind you, I am not complaining because I am so greatful that I have kiddos that want to be involved in different activities and a hubby that is willing to take on two teams, I am a little worried about all that we will have going on though. I just know that we are going to get a little hectic. Oh well, such is life and I know that this is just getting us ready for the fall and football, cheerleading, and dance season. I love kids!

I was telling my hubby the other day that I truly am loving this season of life. I love that the kids are involved in things, we are able to go and do things and they don't melt down or have accidents, we don't have diaper bags, and while they do have attitudes at times, they are really well behaved and we can take them pretty much where ever we want.

Miss M looks so cute with her baseball helmit on and hitting the ball. She looks so small out there, but so big.

And my Mr. Man looks so big. He looks like a real baseball player. It's been fun watching his team practice. He is on coach pitch now and so daddy has to pitch the ball to the players. It's fun to watch both teams play because with t-ball the kids are learning how to play on a team and just stay focused. Coach pitch teams, the kids are interested in the game and pay attention, but they are learning how to hit a moving target. I guess you could say that I am becoming a baseball fan!

Miss M turns 5!

Well, I'm a few days late for this post, but...better late than never! Happy 5th Birthday to my sweet girl! I can't believe that you're 5 already and you'll be going to Kindergarten next year. You are such a beautiful, kind, sweet, girl who is not afraid to speak your mind or tell us what's up. You make us so happy and proud to be your parents. God has truly blessed us with one of the most wonderful little girls that has ever walked this earth. I pray that He will bless your life and you will continue to grow in His love.

Since we'd done your cake over the weekend at your party, we celebrated tonight with a cupcake. You loved it and had a blue mouth from the icing!

Then we moved onto opening presents. You had only really asked for two things. You wanted a Rapunzel "barbie" doll and a walking dog. Granmda and Grandpa B got you the Rapunzel doll and you haven't put it down since you got it. It goes everywhere with you.

Mama got you your first nice neckless. Of course, it'd be me...I LOVE jewerly. And I'm working on you. You love it as well and wear it as often as we'll let you. This is a little daisy neckless with a little 'bling' on it.

AND Mr. Man got you the walking dog! Again...you love it. Just look at your smile! While you are home, you don't put this down either and 'Pappy' sleeps on your nightstand right next to your pillow.

This year for your birthday you also got your DS from papa & grandma, a floor mirror from Bu, piggy slippers from Mimi & Papa, lots of $$$ which you have bought a Tangled DS game and Zoobles treehouse, Mario Cart for your DS from us as well as a jacket, a couple of outfits, and some lotion.

All in all, you had a great birthday. You are sooo loved by your family and we are so blessed to have your smiling, bubbly, and sweet personality around us everyday.

Miss M's 5th Birthday Party!

Yesterday was Miss M's birthday party. We had planned on having a jumpy house, putting up our disc swing in the tree out front (that used to be haning in the tree but because of some grouchy neighbor had to be taken down...we are going to keep it up as long as we don't get anymore letters and even then it's up for discussion. Considering there are about 5 other swings hanging up around the neighborhood.), 'pin' the crown on Maddie (a picture of her with pink crowns that we cut out), and a tiara pinata. We had invited 16 friends, but because of a conflict with another party from the class we ended up with about 12 friends ( I'd say that's a good turn out for a 5 year old birthday party). There was a little boy from her class that was having his party at the same time, so most of the boys went there and the girls came to M's party. We had a lot of fun and the bounce house was a HIT!

I have been making cakes lately for friends and friends of friends. I am hoping to make a little side business out of it. I made Miss M's cake for her party and it was a pink castle cake with pink sparkley turrets. It was chocolate cake on the bottom layer, vanilla cake in the middle layer, and marble cake for the top two layers. It was frosted with pink cream cheese frosting and was topped off with pink sugar turrets, pink windows, and a drawbridge. It was a big hit and tasted GREAT! We had pink lemonade, Cheeto's puffs, pretzals, and Freeto's for snack food.

For the party favors I went to the Target dollar section. I LOVE the Target dollar section! I got green pails for the boys and pink and white flower baskets with green ribbon handles for the girls. Then I found Sponge Bob and Dora Domino's and card games, braceletts (for the girls), silly bands (for the boys), flower head bands (for the girls), car cups (for the boys), smarties (Miss M's favorite candy), and playdough for each child. We also used them for the pinata. Once it was broken open, they collected the candy in their bucket. It was so cute, the girls were all wearing their flower headbands as they were wacking away at the tiara pinata. Very lady-like.

I had to remember this one little fact. On Friday (the day before the party) Miss M announced to me that she was going to be wearing a beautiful dress. But then she proceeded to let me know that no one else would be allowed to wear a dress. To which I was completely at a loss for words. Princess in the making...what can I say? I realize that this is probably somehthing that I should have not let her say, but since she didn't really mean it and there were other little girls there with dresses on and she didn't say a word about it, I figured she was all talk.
Also, I have to add that her beautiful dress was a camo dress with purple sparkle bands and butterfly with pink sparkley leggins. When in the world did my little girl consider a beautiful dress to be camo???? I must say though that she did look beautiful and not redneckish at all.

What we do in our free time...

The other day we were in the car waiting on Mr. Man to get out of school. We get to his school about 30 minutes before dismissal because the car rider line goes around the block and if you don't want to be at the back of the line, then you get there early and wait. This means that there is a LOT of time for us to hang out. Sooo, anyways, we were jammin to some music and Miss M had her hairbrush. You can only imagine what a girl will do when her favorite song (I use the term loosly because EVERY song that she knows is her favorite) comes on and she has a hairbrush in her hand.

And this was what my point of view was as I waited. By the way, when he was a little pup, his nose was completely black. How does a dog's nose turn brown??? I don't know, but it has!

With the warm weather on the horizon, baseball season has begun. This is going to be a different year for us. Miss M has been watching daddy coach Mr. Man's t-ball and football teams for the past 2 years and decided this year that she watned daddy to coach her too. So, we have 2 kids playing ball this year, and daddy gets to coach both teams too.

Since we knew that she watned to play this year, we've been working with her a little and got her a new glove for Valentine's Day, it's pink and black...she's in love with it! Check out the form on this girl.

Mr. Man also started his season. He's number 6 and looking very much like a big boy in this picture. He'll be playing coach pitch this year so we will have a lot less helpers on the field to keep the players from playing in the dirt and he will have to hit a moving ball instead of hitting it off of the tee.

Also, he'll be a cub this year! GO CUBS!!

I had to share this as well. Remember when I got a new rug at the rodeo? Well, for my birthday I was able to FINALLY find an ottoman that is big and opens to replace my coffee table. I've been on the lookout for an affordable one that I liked, was big, and would open to store toys and more importatlly all of the blankets that I love to have around.

And apparently to be used in the following way....
