Easter

For Easter this year, we decided to do something a little different. Our church offered 5 services, 2 Saturday night and 3 Sunday morning. Our small group decided that we'd all go to the 5:00 Saturday night service then go out to dinner and let the kids do an egg hunt at the restaurant (they had an outdoor play area). It was a great idea. The kids had so much fun! That gave us Sunday morning to take our time and see what the bunny brought and do our egg hunt at the house. We thought that we'd end up going out on the boat, but since it was so windy, we ended up doing chores around the house. I really like having the morning for our festivities and a good breakfast.

This year the bunny was "sneaky" as Miss M says. He decided to hide the kids baskets and then lead them to their baskets...

it took them about an hour to find their baskets.

But, I'm pretty sure they had fun!

With a little dancing thrown in for good measure,

Of course, there was so much that momma and daddy had to follow behind to do the collecting.

But in the end, they were victorious!

New life jackets for the boat, that 1. fit, and 2. are stylish!

And a little bit of candy.

Thank you Easter Bunny for not overloading us with candy.

All to be followed by an egg hunt in the house for the candy filled eggs.

They had Peanut M & M's and Jellybeans (to put into their M&M holders from E.B.)

But E.B. was not done, oh no he wasn't! He hid the dyed eggs and cascerones (confetti filled eggs) all over the back yard. All in all, I'd say the kids had a great Easter.

But, they not only enjoyed the Easter Bunny fun, they also remembered why we celebrate Easter. They know that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and they he rose 3 days later so that He can be our living God. We are so thankful for all that He has done for us, and love Him for that. We are also so blessed that our kids know and love God. We pray that they would continue their journey with Him and they would continue to grow in Him. Happy Easter to you!

SNAKE!

Yes, that's right. We had a snake in our backyard today! GROSS!!! The hairs on my arms are still standing up. Let me cleaify. It was small. Like, I thought, at first, that it was one of those cute little lizards. That is until it got close to the house and instead of running up the side of it, like the cute little lizard would have done, it slithered next to it. Wiggly tail wiggling and all. ICK! Since I was gardening and planing my new cilantro plant, I had my garden spade in my hand which made for a nice little projectile that can wound. But, unfortunately, it can't kill to the capacity that I wanted that thing dead. So, after seriously wounding it, I made my 5 year old daughter watch it, from a safe distance up on the porch...it was on the ground and I knew that it could NOT get her, while I ran through the house into the garage to get the long handled shovel and run back through the house. While standing on the porch next to Miss M, I proceeded to chop that sucker into as many little pieces as I could. It's tail was still twitching when I decided it was high time to get back inside. Away from all slithery creatures. You can count on me making my hubby mow more often and I am most certainly moving the little dish with water in it for the birds to drink that is sitting on the ground in my garden. We are taking NO CHANCES HERE PEOPLE!
By the way, I don't know what it was. If you are reading this and have any idea, please let me know. It had a brown body with some "decoration" on it, as in shapes. No stripes going either direction. It did have a bright blue tail. I am pretty sure that it's head was kind of pointy, since I thought that it was a lizard. I'm pretty sure, by the size of it, that it was very young.

Because here is our little man ready to ride the Harley for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

He had a BLAST! He got to go to Best Buy with daddy and a little ride then. It made him sooo sleepy. When he got home all he wanted to do was take a nap. Sweet little bear.

Please excuse the mess behind them, we don't have much storage, so the garage gets our whole mess. Here he is ready to go.

On another note, I had this fountain. We've had it for about 7 years. It works good and I love the shape of it. But as you can see, it needed to be repainted sooo badly. I finally broke down on a really nice day and decided to paint it. I used a wire brush to get the old paint off, cleaned it off, then primed it.

This is it primed. I guess I didn't get a pic of it done. I'll do it tomorrow and post it later this week. But, trust me, it looks great now!

Lastly, I've been doing cakes lately for friends thinking that I may like to start up a sort of business. I've done Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Princess Castles, Rapunzle's Castle, and now this Iron Man cake. I think it turned out pretty cool!
