Grace and Speed

Miss M had her first dance recital Saturday. Let me tell you, I was just as proud as a mamma could be! She did such a great job. She was up on that stage and danced her little heart out to "Love Me Tender." She did all of the "pase"s, "aerobesques", "pirouets" and "plies" that were in the dance, all while having a smile on her face. She looked beautiful too! I was able to get her hair to hold enough curl to get her through the dance with enough mousse and hairspray and we applied and reapplied her makeup many times (because that's what girls do) and the girl was GEORGIOUS, georgious I tell you.
Her dance was after the intermission, so here she is sitting with daddy and big brother watching the other dancers perform.
Proud Mamma and the Prima Ballerina
My little ballerina ready to go on stage and do her thing.
The pictures are a little hard to see, so I'll just put this one on here. She is the third ballerina from the left.

After the show she was given a trophy and stuffed flower. Then big brother and daddy suprised her with a beautiful bouquet of hot pink flowers. Boy was she one happy little girl.
Then Sunday night Mr. Man had his first pine car derby race for Awana. Daddy helped him build his Green Monster. This is the happy boy sanding down the car to make it smooth so it would go really fast!
Then they painted it green, our boy's most favorite color of all time!
And what car would be complete without racing stripes?
Mr. Man with his car, ready to head to the races.

This is the first race of the night. As you can see, he was in a VERY close second.
And in the end, he took home the third place trophy! AND got a ribbon!
A good weekend was had by all, and to top it off, they both got trophies over the weekend.
Hope your weekend was just as great as these two had!
