A little bit of summer fun...

On Tuesday, we had a really fun and exciting day. We started the day by heading to the library for storytime. The kids listened to stories about caterpillars and butterflys. Then they were able to make a craft, a fuzzy caterpillar on a leaf. It was really cute and they enjoyed story time.

Then we headed home to get ready for our evening. We were heading over to daddie's jobsite for an event that they had going on that night. They were announcing who's going to be running the hotel and have all of the news crews there, as well as their celebrity chef and Dancing with the Stars dancers. We were on our way there when daddy called and told me that there weren't going to be anyother wives or kids there. I decided that we didn't need to go then, since it was just going to be somewhere for the kids to get into trouble. BUT, daddy still needed his clothes for the next day (which I had with me) and we did have a doggy sitter.

So, onward ho! We headed to daddy and the hotel we had gotten. I asked the kids if they wanted to go see a movie and a small dinner or if they wanted to go have a nice dinner, get dessert, then swim in the hotel pool. They decided that they wanted to go have a nice dinner, dessert, and swim. So we checked into the hotel first. Oh MY! Why is it that kids get sooo excited about hotels. You'd think that they'd never seen a bed before, or lived in a hotel for an entire month before!!! They were jumping on the bed, running around like wild monkeys, and using the rolling desk chair to stand on and look out the window to the pool.
After looking around the hotel, we headed out for dinner at 4:30. Yes, I was hoping to make it to the early bird special. Ha! We were hungry and I knew if we had any hope for dessert, we'd have to eat early. We got to the restaurant only to find out they weren't open yet and we still had 10 mintues.
15 minutes later, and no toys, no DS's, basically no fun things since mom wasn't prepared, we were seated. The kids LOVE to go to the restaurants that cook on your table.
The restaurant didn't dissappoint. The kids had a great time and FULL bellies, to the point that they didn't even had any room for dessert. So we headed back to the hotel to swim.
This was probably the best pool we've ever been in! It's deepest spot was 3 feet 6 inches. So the kids could touch at any point, but not comfortably so they really practiced swimming and could still jump in.
Let me tell you, these kids swam for 3 hours in the pool!!! I think that they may have grown some gills and turned into little fishes.
They had a wonderful time swimming and making a friend that is in the same situation we used to be in. Ie, living in the hotel for WAAAAY longer than we expected to or wanted to. But making the best of the situation.
