Home, Sweet, Home

Well, yet again we are moving! Only, this time we get to buy the house and stay put until we decide it's time to go. We are heading to Austin, Tx this time 'round.

We went house hunting in early March for a couple of days and found a couple of new homes that we loved, but wanted to be responsible, so we found a realitor and looked at "used" homes. None of them compared to the new ones we had found for the exact same price. So, after a few times out, we decided that we were going to do it and make an offer on the one we love. When we went to talk to the builder's rep, there was only one left that we had looked at. It seemed like it was meant to be ours.

We made an offer and waited...and waited...and waited. It took 3 days for them to decide to accept our offer. Right now we are in a holding pattern while our financing is being approved. I'm hoping that in the next couple of days, I'll be able to post that the house is ours.

They are wanting a closing at the end of April which means that the kids and I are going to be very busy for the month of May. I am not willing to pull the kids out of school 3 weeks early or for them to miss the end of their dance, baseball, or soccer. So we will be hanging out in our old stomping ground and sleeping in our new house.

Anyways, I know that the main reason you are reading this post is because you want to see the pics, so here they are!.......................................................................................

This is the outside. You can't see them, but there are two trees to the left and more on the right as well.
The front window you see is the guest room and the other 3 small windows are fake (attic space, I guess). It has a 3 car garage! Yeah! We can FINALLY fit all of our toys AND cars in the garage! There is also a sidewalk running right in front of us.
This is walking in the front door. You see right down the long hall. Just to the left is the "guest quarters". I.e. the guest bedroom and guest full bath. Along with a linen closet and coat closet.
This is the guest bath.
And guest bedroom. They were getting ready to turn the house into the model, so they had moved in their furnature and were ready to show it.
Just down the hallway on the left is the dinning room. I love the hard wood floor in here. It's dark and has the knots and distressed look to it. Also, the chandelire is amazing! As are all of the fixtures and lighting.
Across the hall from the dinning room on the right is the hallway to the kids wing. The open door on the right in this picture is the laundry room that leads into the garage. The closed door on the right is another linen closet, and the open door just past it on the right is the kids bathroom. Moving past it on the right is the "mud area" for coats, bookbags, and a seat. M's room is the open door on the end on the right and C's room is the open door on the end on the left. The other door on the left is the bonus room.
This is M's room. It has a walk in closet and we are going to be painting it. The colors have yet to be chosen.
This is the "mud area". I want to put up some beadboard below the hooks and I'd like to change the color, but that may have to wait for a bit. I'd also like to knock out the wall under the seat so I can put baskets for shoes there. But I am so happy to have this little area!
This is C's room. His closet is a long, double door closet and he is going to paint it blue with a red strip on the top. Very sports-ie (if that's a word).
This is the bonus room from the door by the kids room. There are double doors on the other side that is by the living room. We are going to put the pullout couch in there with our extra tv, but also have the desk area and playroom.
This is the same room from the double doors. There is a built in desk with dark wood and black granite counter (it matches the kitchen...we'll get there Bridget...just hold on!)
There is a half bath (oh yes there is honey!) that is in the hallway just past the double doors and heading to our bedroom.
This is our bedroom looking in from the hall door.
This is our bedroom looking from the far corner. The hall door is to the right of the mirror. The bathroom is through the double doors. There are two windows that look into the backyard.
And this is the master looking from the bathroom doors.
This is my vanity in the master bathroom. The water closet (toilet) is just to the right of the vanity. And the corner tub is next to it.
This is R's vanity with the corner tub. The window has the bubbling in it so you can't see in (or out) but lets the light in. The shower is next to the vanity.
This is the shower and the open door is to the closet. It's smaller than we are used to, but it has lots of shelves and hanging bars, so I'm pretty sure we'll be just fine.
This is the living room. The hall way you see leads to the master and you can see the bonus room. The fireplace is gas and wood burning. We are planning on putting our entertainment center on the wall with the t.v. as well.
This is the living room looking from the hallway. The wall is full of windows looking into the backyard. We are getting dark wood blinds hung in the whole house before we move in too. Ok Bridget, are you ready for the kitchen? Here it is!.........................................................................................
The kitchen looking from the living room. There is a dinette that has a door to the back patio and if you look down the hall on the right is a doorway into the kitchen. Down the hallway there are niches as well. You can see one and there are two across the hall from it. At the entry door there are two large ones as well. We have ordered four bar stools that are round, but look just like the ones in the picture.
This is NOT our new fridge, but it looks just like this one! This is a better view of the kitchen. There is an island in the middle that has 3 book shelves for my cookbooks. It has a gas cooktop with a stainless vent, a microwave on top, and a large convection oven under it. The sink is by the bar. The door is the corner pantry. I dare you to count the cabinets too. Don't worry, I did, there are 37! 37, I tell you! Can you even believe it?! The cabinets are all dark stained and knotty and distressed with black granite countertops. The backsplash is a natural stone subway tile layout. They are really cool looking!
This is standing in front of the pantry looking into the living room.
Looking in from the hallway door. See the bookshelves in the island?
Looking through the kitchen into the dinette. You can see the stainless steel dishwasher on the right. All of the buttons are hidden on the top.....so cool!
This is looking down the hallway from the living room. Also, I didn't mention, the trayed celing that runs down the hallway. You can see one, but there is another one right by the front door.
This is looking at the backyard from the patio. It's not a huge patio, but it's covered! We are planning on eventually adding a patio with a firepit at some point.
This is the back of the house and patio. We have 3 trees back there (well, ok 4, but we are having one removed before we move in). This backyard is great! It is flat and big enough that we can play a good game of football or baseball.
Looking down the left side of the house. Looks like a place Chase will love!
The patio and right side of the house.
More of the backyard and some of the trees. The left tree in the set of trees is the one we will have taken out. It's a cedar trash tree. But we plan on keeping the pretty little girl in purple :)
Bu got to come see us and help us climb the trees for the first time.
I can't wait to post pictures of this house with all of our stuff moved in!
Our happy family outside of what we hope will be a wonderful home for us for years to come!
