The city that we moved to is such a cute little town. It's small enough that when you go somewhere, as long as you know people, you'll probably see someone you know. But large enough to be anonymous if you'd like to be. We were told when we moved here that the town has something going on almost every weekend and that they find a reason to have a celebration whenever they can. We are finding that to be very true. We've already experienced the largest county fair in Texas and the largest festival in Texas that's devoted entirely to sausage and beer! We were both able to really tap into our German heritage. So, here are some of the fun things that we've done in our 2 months here.
I just loved this picture of the kids. Miss M's legs look so long here! They look so big in this picture. I can't believe that Mr. Man is 5 and Miss M is almost 4!
There is an old train at the old train station in the town. Mr. Man being the conductor.
Miss M on the red caboose. She loved the train. It was really neat to see. The caboose is made out of wood. Really cool!
This was a really neat old car. Miss M enjoyed sitting on it and pretneding to drive it.
Mr. Man was having a bad day at this moment, so please disreguard him off to the side. Miss M enjoyed sitting on the front of the train engine. She looks so small on such a big train. The engine's a coal engine so we got to see where the coal was stored and put into the engine. Mr. Man can't wait to go back, and be in a good mood this time:)
This is one of the water things around the town. I'm not sure what it's called. But it was putting out a TON of water very quickly. We were at the sausage and beer festival during this pictre.
Here is Miss M riding the carosule at the festival.
And what blog post about beer and sausage would be complete without a picture of your "men" eating 5 different types of sausage on a stick?! They were all really pretty good. Just so you know, EVERYTHING was on a stick. They had sausage on a stick, shrimp on a stick, bread on a stick, you name it and it was on a stick. WOW What an experiance!
